The baby shower thrown by my side of the family was pirate themed. Yes, pirate themed. And they did a killer job pulling it off.

Here's some photographic evidence.

The gift table. Complete with homemade bunting by my sis-in-law Amy (doesn't she rock?!), a pirate diaper cake and a treasure chest filled with momma-to-be necessities. Like nipple cream. And butt paste.

My cousin Stacey (the lovely one who took all the photos, by the way) even had this pirate bear that she donated to the day's festivities.

The centerpieces were gerber daisies (my favorite) inside of treasure chests with some booty scattered around it for good measure. AKA, gold coins and beaded necklaces.

Here is my cousin's adorable daughter explaining to me that there is chocolate inside each of the gold coins.

And same adorable cousin's daughter with equally as adorable dear friend's daughter sporting the beads from inside the centerpieces.

We had a pirate ship fruit bowl, hand carved by Stacey and decked out with masts by Amy.

Even the silverware and napkins were decked out.

And no shower would be complete without some delicious preggatinis... thanks Melissa! Alcohol free. Partly because I can't drink. And partly because the venue didn't allow alcohol.

Thanks to my pirate helper, Mara. She's the one that made sure I was able to open all the booty.

Thank you to my awesome aunts, my sis-in-law, cousins and mom for pulling together such a great day. Baby Brandstaetter (or Frank as we like to call him or her) is very blessed to have such amazing and generous people in his or her life. And, of course, thank you to everyone that was able to be a part of this day.
