How many times will I insert this picture of Aaron Rodgers and I into this blog post? I am currently uncertain. But, here is our February in photos!
William's Kindergarten teacher loves to teach art... this week he was learning how to draw a walrus. Adorable, right? The walrus is pretty cute too.
John and I must have been playing Monopoly Junior here. Or, I had asked him to clean up the pieces and money and he was ignoring me by putting his sock in my face.
On our walks to the bus stop (which is all uphill) we regularly have to stop because John's "legs are too tired" or his "ankles are hurting" - but, today he wanted me to take a picture of his Star Wars shirt from Danae because he loves it (and her) so much.
the boys golf a lot so I bought Will these really cool kids golf shoes (on the right) for $5 on Amazon! And John's are from Stride Rite and are not technically golf shoes, but are similar material and so fun!
Another fabulous gift from Uncle Kurt! He really does send the best stuff to the boys. And they love it!
This one is a little blurry but its such a good representation of how the boys feel about Grandpa. He is always up for fun, tickles and wrestling.
We sure did love our visit with him, complete with golfing and a trip to the outlet mall for new Skechers :)
Our swim school had a table out for the boys to make Valentines. Will made one for his Kindergarten teacher. I don't know who John colored his rainbow Valentine for.
My Valentine from John John 😍
Play time at Dove Mountain Park is always a good time. They really are the best playmates and sweetest brothers to one another.
We thought it would be fun to make cupcakes and decorate them for Valentines Day. but, of course we needed to use "police colors" rather than traditional red and pink.

Another day, another hike!
It snowed on Mt Lemmon and the Santa Catalina Mountains again so I captured this shot of the snow covered mountains from the Walmart parking lot. I didn't realize just how cool this picture turned out when I first took it but think it is a beautiful representation of the mountains and skies here.
The boys were getting ready for rodeo weekend in their matching outfits with hats and boots. They didn't want Bear to feel left out so he got to dress up too!
It wouldn't be Rodeo Weekend without a little snow, right? I had been talking to locals about the possibility of snow in the forecast for a couple of days leading up to this and was convinced it wouldn't actually snow here. Boy was I surprised when I woke up this morning to find out that it was, in fact, snowing! And for the record, it does not usually snow for Rodeo Weekend. It's a weekend off of school for all of the kids because the Rodeo is in town and it's time for everyone to enjoy the festivities.

I will always remember our snow day as the day I got my AZ license plates (how's that for becoming an official Arizonan on a snow day?) And, more importantly, we celebrated National Margarita Day with our neighbors!
Erik took this panoramic photo of the Santa Catalina Mountains before we headed up to Phoenix for the afternoon to meet our friends.
Zach & Erin were in town for Brewers Spring Training so we took the opportunity to drive the boys to Phoenix to meet them for a late lunch/early dinner in The District. We have had so many visitors in Arizona since moving here and it's always so fun to see good friends from back home.

The adventures continued with a trip to our very first Rodeo! We chose to go Sunday for the final rounds based on recommendations from some local folks. The boys had a great time and it was such a beautiful day... the snow melted and it was back up into the 60s.
My favorite part of the rodeo was the mutton bustin' - where little kids ride on the back of sheep much like mini bullriders. It is so cool to watch and I got such a kick out of watching the brave kids give it a go. If you ever have the opportunity to experience a Rodeo, do it!
John threw this plastic golf club over our fence the very first morning we lived here. I attempted to retrieve it when I encountered my very first rattler in the middle of monsoon season. I never went back out for it again. A very nice worker was out in the wash behind our house on this particular day, saw the golf club and threw it back up to us in our yard. I told him I wasn't going down there for fear of meeting a rattler and he let me know, rather nonchalantly, that he had already seen 3 in the few minutes he was walking around down there.

One of my neighbors put out this sign. I found it hilarious!
Remember when we went to a Roadrunners game back in January? Uncle Kurt enrolled the boys in Dusty's Fan Club so we got to go to a special event night at the Reid Park Zoo. There were snacks, pictures with Dusty, giraffe feeding and autographs with the players. The boys loved it!

Little did we know that we would be getting more autographs the next day!
I had volunteered to help make some signs for a school event with another mom and we started chatting about WI. She has family that live there and we ended up talking about the Packers. She let me know that some friends of hers had gone to the ColoGuard Classic the year before and met Aaron Rodger while he played in the ProAm with another WI golfer, Jerry Kelly.
Erik and I were already planning to take the boys to the tournament Friday afternoon, but after talking with my friend, who strongly encouraged us to go check it out, I decided to get the kids ready after school and take a chance on possibly seeing Aaron Rodgers.
As you can see, it seemed to work out ok.

I could barely speak.. I was so star struck
Then, as if meeting him and getting his autograph wasn't enough, the kind gentleman working the Veterans booth at the 16th hole invited the boys onto the tee box while Aaron teed off.
And who do I realize I am standing next to while watching all of this take place? Mr. Jerry Kelly. I later found out from my dad that this is who he played with in a GMO 20+ years ago when I caddied for him at the event. So, I met Jerry 20 years ago in Milwaukee and then again in Tucson. Crazy!
Aaron and Jerry were so genuinely nice and I feel so lucky to have had our kids make this memory.
Erik was at work when all of this happened so we are already planning how to do this is a family next year. We did go to the tournament on Friday. More pictures to follow in March!

There's no better way to end this post than the way it began. Thanks for the memories Aaron!
