Our Fall Visit from Nana {Grandma Zimm's Birthday & A Pancake Breakfast}
9:02 PM
Nana (Erik's mom) came for a visit from South Carolina in early October and we spent a lot of time doing fun things with her and the kids. On Saturday, October 3rd we went to the Town of Waukesha Pancake Breakfast at the fire station. The kids really enjoyed the all you can eat pancakes and picked up swag bags full of fire safety info and some fireman hats.

It was a chilly day and we didn't plan for coats for the kids as we didn't really plan to do anything outside. Luckily we had winter hats for the kids so we were able to squeeze in some time in the fire trucks and ambulances.
Will got to practice being a firefighter and put out the fire in the house with the help one of the firefighters. We also watched a burn demonstration that showed the difference between a fire in a house with a sprinkler system vs. without. By then we were all pretty cold and were ready to call it a day so we packed up the kids and headed back home.
On Sunday we met Nana and some of Erik's family in Libertyville, IL to celebrate Grandma Zimm's birthday. It was a small celebration with cake and punch and a nice chance to see some of Erik's extended family.
